LCID cannot run in this locale

This error occurs when the game cannot start due to incorrect Windows language or regional settings. It is especially common when using a non-Russian locale.

Solution:

For Windows 7:

Open: Control Panel → All Control Panel Items → Language. 
Go to Change date, time, or number formats. 
In the Advanced tab, find the option Language for non-Unicode programs. 
Make sure Russian (Russia) is selected. 
If necessary, click Change system locale… and select Russian (Russia). 
Click OK and restart your computer.

For Windows 10 and 11:

Open Settings (keyboard shortcut).

Go to Time & Language → Language & Region. 
Scroll down and click Administrative language settings (under "Related settings"). 
In the window that opens, select the Administrative tab. 
Click Change system locale.... 
Select Russian (Russia) and confirm restart.
